In a time that never existed, an anthropologist, artist and ethnomusicologist discovered the fictional culture of Orasan. This is a record of their imaginary mythology.

Meet the Orasanians through the perspective of a pompous—yet somehow lovable—researcher. Through ten short stories, you will find yourself immersed in the vibrant rituals and daily lives of a complex people who live for the simple pleasures in life, such as their morning cup of cat-pee-grass tea.

Listen to the Album

Drums, fuzz guitars, a chorus of children and an old doorbell are just some of the sounds that make up the landscape of Orasan’s aural texture. Ethnomusicologist Jim Jackson brings the rituals and daily lives of the fictional people to your ears through ten tracks of ecstasy, chaos and rejuvenation.

As of June 15, 2026, you can find the tracks here.
